Down To 2 More Days

August 31, 2009

Two more days and I’m off to Luzon. Yay!

Months back, we, Kat, Pam, and I, were able to book a round-trip ticket to Manila for only Php600.00 courtesy of course of Cebu Pacific. Actually, it wasn’t our original plan. We were supposed to go to Singapore, but we’re unfortunate to avail their promo fare for international flights as such to Luzon we’ll go.

With the tickets already reserved, we mapped out our itinerary, though technically it was actually our tour agency who planned out everything for us. All in all, the trip will cover Vigan, Pagudpud, La Union, and Baguio. Certainly, those places will keep our ohhs and ahhs going for 4 days. Read the rest of this entry »

Company Outing ’09

August 29, 2009

Unlike the previous outings that we had, this year’s company outing was a bit late. To add, it also became less exciting and less fun (read: BORING) maybe because of the lack of preparation or perhaps the location doesn’t permit us to do other activities. But nonetheless, I guess everyone was glad we had a bit of relaxation yesterday.

So, our venue for this year was at Hidden Paradise Mountain Resort in San Fernando, Cebu. Since the place is a bit far, assembly time was quite early, 6:30 am. Roughly 1 1/2 hours later, we reached the resort. The place itself is not so enticing, honestly speaking. I think the come on for that resort is their cheap accommodation. Although to be fair, they do have a lot of amenities. The major turn off though is not only their highly priced-not-so-impressive food, but also their boorish staff. Ugh! (mm) If I were the manager, I would have fired them all.

Burnt, But Happy

August 29, 2009

More than 4 hours of sun exposure, this what I got: crisp and bronzed. Yay! It’s was too late when I realized I had too much sun yesterday during our company outing. Nonetheless, I’m happy with my new tan as it’s not every day we get to chill out without having to think of our workloads. But what worries me though is my travel next week, which is less than four days from today. Beach activities are a definite part of the itinerary. Nay! It only means before my skin gets the taste of normalcy it’ll have to go through another tanning.

In that case, better find the best sunscreen lotion fast! ;)

Missing Them

August 20, 2009
me and the Zulita family

me and the Zulita family

This is my older sister’s family, Cathy. Next week, they’re set to fly somewhere far and chilly. Although my sister and I, she being protective and all and me being carefree (in a good way though) and stubborn, weren’t always the best pair, I always hold her dear to my heart in spite of our age gap and differences. And when they leave, for sure, I’m going to miss her and her whole family especially the kiddos, JD and Chloe.

Separation really sucks!!! But I wish them well as they embark on a new journey.

See you soon :)

Bag Fetish

August 20, 2009

Men, for the life of them, couldn’t simply see the logic behind women’s weakness for bags and shoes. Well, the analogy is pretty simple. Men: cars/toys::Women:bags/shoes. See, it isn’t so hard, is it?

Bags and shoes are like women’s lifelines. To deprive women of such things, it’s like cutting off their sanity  It’s more than just fashion. It’s like expressing themselves without even uttering. After all, women are judged through the shoes they wear and bags they carry. Actually, I’m not really sure about that  But the point is, bags and shoes will always be part of a women’s accessory. They’re staple goods. So, men shouldn’t make a fuss when their women want another shoe/bag despite the fact that she could practically open up her own shop with the umpteen shoes/bags she’d accumulated over the years.

You might ask, whaz up with the long intro? Beats me

A Moment Of Silence For Shuusen-kinenbi (End Of The War Memorial Day)

August 14, 2009

More than half a century had passed when the World War II finally came to its end. August 15, 2009 marks the 64th year when the Japanese, accepting defeat, raised their white flags to the Americans. A little over noon on that the same date in 1945, while the Japanese felt beaten, the rest of the world cheered in jubilation.

But it’s all in the past now. And I’m glad the war ended when it did. I’m glad the Japanese finally came to their senses and had stopped wreaking havoc. I’m glad they realized that the war wouldn’t only hurt other nations, which they’d mercilessly invaded, but their country as well.

Although it’s already sixty-four years after the Second World War, it’s important that we remember it so as not to repeat that same tragic event which claimed millions of innocent lives.

Let’s offer a moment of SILENCE  for those victims.

Thanks to my stud for the reminder ;)

Ella, a good friend, gave birth to this cute little angel a few days ago. Congrats to Bryan and Ella!

I’m so green with envy! Hmmm, now I wonder when is going to be my time? Or the big question is, will my time ever come? **sigh** :-?

Off-Day Activities

August 8, 2009

In spite of the sweltering weather, reaching up to 35 C or so, we braved the outside and went driving around town. And boy was I glad that P brought a Picanto instead of an open-covered multi-cab or else I’ll be unrecognizable by the end of the day because of too much tanning under the vengeful sun.

As much as I’d want to give a detailed account, I run out of words to type, but I’ll try, okay? So, here’s a somewhat minute-by-minute account of what we did last Thursday.

TAOIST TEMPLE

First off, since it was Crystal’s, Kat’s good friend from Manila, first time to Visit Cebu, literally an alien of this town, we toured Taoist Temple as it’s the closest tourist destination. You might have heard about this place before so I need not elaborate it. It was actually my third time to visit the temple. As per my observation, they get stricter every year. I was also disappointed to discover that their telescope, used to view the city, was no longer in use. It would have been handy spotting some hunks in Beverly Hills  There’s also one thing to put in mind when visiting this place. SILENCE. Well, for the most obvious reason, it’s a sacred place so it requires your respect. Do keep your voices down or the guard on duty will follow you around with his placard that says “Keep silence or I’ll ask the temple God to kick your butts off!” Just kidding!

Kiss Me Not Or Else Pay

August 7, 2009

Boredom always leads me to surf endlessness. On such occasions, I would often chance upon all sorts of articles; from the weirdest down to the cutest finds, from the most interesting to the lousiest item one could come upon. Among the curious case I’ve read today involves a 32-year-old man, whose confidence level in hypnosis exceeded the normal range, and his 27-year-old date. Too bad his skill proved worthless when he tried it on his date, whom he stole a kiss from thinking that she was already in a complete trance.

As the kiss was without consent, or is it that his looks was far from that of any Hollywood celebrity or even appalling to the poor lass (forgive my rudeness), the woman filed for sexual harassment and had him pay $2,453 or 3 million won. Whew! That’s a hefty amount that’d probably burnt his pocket all because his ability in hypnosis failed him when he needed it the most.

Well, it seems apparent that “money is thicker than a kiss” or is it that “the course of love never did run smooth.” :P :D

Sachie

August 6, 2009

Her name is Sachie. Probably, the name may ring a bell to a lot of Japanese as it is a very traditional name for women. In spite of its antiquity, the sound is definitely an eargasm. Not only that. Sachie also stands for something like a “blessing”. It’s really fitting as I truly consider my Sachie a real gift.

That’ll be me typing out on Sachie. Sorry for the mess. You can still see my old monitor at the far left of the photo and the CPU below. Now that I have Sachie, it’s about time my archaic desktop have its rest.
