FoodTasteTest: Tutti Frutti

October 25, 2010

I love yogurt :P I love it to the max!

So when Kat told us that there’s a newly opened yogurt parlor at the lower ground floor of SM Mall, MSFM and I got excited. After finishing our business at Colon, we headed to SM.

The shop’s name? TUTTI FRUTTI :D Doesn’t it sound so delicious?

Tutti Frutti is an Italian term which basically means “all fruits”. And the shop, Tutti Frutti, lives up to its name.

yogurt dispensers

Aside from their fruit-flavored yogurt, they also offer a variety of toppings ranging from fruits to rainbow sprinkles. What’s more fun about having a yogurt at Tutti Frutti is that get to make your own yogurt confection :D Sweet, eh?

yummy toppings

To make your very own yogurt, you have to choose your cup size (small, medium, large). Then, choose your flavor. You can pick one or mix all ;) . Top your yogurt with your favorite toppings. Pay and eat to your heart’s content :P

Accessories Galore @ Aizilym

October 25, 2010

Today is the Barangay Election Day. But I’m not a registered voter so I’m excused from going through the unpleasantries of election dramas. Same is true with Kat and MSFM. So instead, we took our lazy asses to the downtown area, Colon.

Kat, who’s an accessory queen, led us to this tiny store in Colon called Aizilym.

Judging from the outside, one would have second thoughts entering. But don’t be discouraged by its appearance. You’ll never know what great treasures awaits inside this not so fastidious store.

The store was small, hot, and smelly :-x It’s apparent it lacked maintenance and cleanliness wasn’t a priority. There were even creepy crawlers right under their display racks 8-O YUCK!!!

But we couldn’t be bothered nor found the time to entertain the distractions as we, Kat and I, were too entranced with all the display. MSFM had to contain fanning himself while he waited for us to pay for our loots. Poor him! :(

The store has a “NO PHOTO” policy which stopped me from taking snaps of their to die for accessories. Boo! What a bummer!

Never fret! Because I photographed all my treasures right after I got home ;) I was that excited :P

NECK BLINGS

3-Owl Necklace

Cindy's Coach

iRobot

Skull on My Guitar

Bronze Butterfly

BANGLES

Bangle Bound

RING, RINGS, AND MORE RINGS

All these, believe it or not, hardly broke my bank :D I was such a happy shopper!

For any bling-aholic, going to Aizilym is a great cure :P

I Heart Cebu

October 25, 2010

What is there not to like about Cebu? rolleyes

There are beautiful sandy white beaches everywhere.

Camotes Island

It has plenty of great shops.

There’s great food in every corner.

There are interesting sights to see.

Basilica Minore del Santo Niño

Taoist Temple

Overlooking the city @ TOPS

Mountain View Park

So there’s simply no reason not to be smitten with this dainty old city :P It has been my adopted home for the past three years and I have no intention of leaving. Well, at least, not just yet! ;)

FoodTasteTest: SIAM Thai Cuisine

October 24, 2010

I’ve been lagging in my post recently. I’ve been busy and lazy that’s why :(

Anyway, perhaps, you’ve noticed by now that most of my recent posts were basically food related. That’s because #1 I’ve never gone anywhere since I went home last August. My day goes like this: home-work-home. Unexciting! I know! Actually, I’m trying to save some money because of a much bigger plan *fingers crossed* ;) So no travels for now. #2 Every Friday, it’s my off day from my teaching job. Basically, I go to the mall to either settle my bills, buy some groceries, or simply have dinner. #3 I love food. And this gal needs to eat good food sometimes, right? But don’t worry this blog won’t be turning into a foodie blog for now, at least. But it looks like it’s heading that way. Nay!

I digress.

Two Fridays ago, Kat, Pam, MSFM, and I dined at SIAM. It wasn’t our first, MSFM and me, but it’s the first time that the four of us ate there.

As expected, the dishes didn’t only looked good but were also delicious. And I’m hands down to their meticulous presentation. With that, I’m placing SIAM as one of the must dine-in resto here in Cebu.

So without further ado, here’s what we had that night:D

Things That Make Me Giddy

October 20, 2010

Cake from Red Ribbon :P

I ate it straight from its plastic container. *nom*nom*nom*

Red Hot Nails

Ahem…Pardon my ugly hands.

Mango Shake

Mango shake from my new, trusty blender. Yeah! I just recently bought a blender so I can make my fruit shake or smoothie anytime I like :P

Pasta

I love, love pasta. I think I’m addicted to it.

Potatoes

I’m a big potato fan. It doesn’t matter whether it’s baked, fried, blanched, or mashed. I’d gladly devour it anytime :D

Hmmm..looks like I’m giddy with almost anything food related

New Home for My Blings

October 13, 2010

Of all the accessories, I collect earrings the most. Some were given but most were bought just about anywhere. Whenever I see something cute and sparkly, I just cannot not have it. Don’t worry! They don’t cost an arm and a leg. But I do have a couple of pairs that I just keep somewhere safe :P It’s so not practical to wear something made of real metal while riding a jeepney. It only spells trouble :( So I’m sticking to my fancy blings for daily use.

This was their original home. It’s a makeshift bling organizer that I made out of styrofoam, a cute box, and some double-sided tape. After a yearlong of use, the styros gradually fell off and some areas were left hollowed :(

So, it’s time to give my bling a new home :D

They’re happier with their new home, I guess ;)

I know most of them are danglings and hoops. But I’ve got a couple of studs I’ve kept in an industrial box that have partitions. In fact, I’ve recently bought two pairs of uber cute earrings to add to my stud collection ;)

mickey on my ear :P

Aren’t they cute? I especially adore my mickey earrings

FoodTasteTest: Oh Georg!

October 13, 2010

As always, this is yet another late post.  Pardon my procrastination.

Weeks ago, we dined at Oh Georg!. It’s one of the many restos we always pass by but never bothered checking out. It was Wednesday. I had no class schedule. MSFM was hungry and so was I. So we took our empty stomach to Oh Georg! and filled it with good ol’ pasta ;)

Oh Georg! is an Italian restaurant which serves, of course, delish pasta. It’s a great place to visit whenever that Italian craving kicks in :D It’s affordable and the service was tops.

fab little resto

So here’s our oh so good dinner :D

Linguini w/ Spicy Tuna

When they say a dish is spicy, they really mean it. It’s hot! Hot! Hot! It’s a very simple pasta dish but nevertheless satisfying. I totally forgot the price but I think it’s a little over Php 290.00.

Beef Lasagna

Nobody say “no” to Lasagna. This one here is the “king” of Lasagna :P It’s really huge. So it’s better shared.

Calamansi Juice

This was made from pure Lemonsito juice. Good thing they didn’t use the powder drink!

Double Chocolate Drink

I call it “Choco Drink slash Choco Dessert”. It’s totally yummy especially for those choco-lovers. But the choco drink plus a scoop of choco ice cream plus shaving cream plus choco syrup were just too overpowering. Two sips was enough choco overload for me:oops:

This was before we began munching our dishes.

Then  All gone! BURP

animated diners :P

Hope you like my gift

Pasta on Sunday? Yay!

October 3, 2010

I’ve been itching to cook the recipe below for weeks. And now that I got a hold of the Pesto powder, I found no reason not to try this recipe out.

Here’s the recipe:

PESTO PASTA w/ SPANISH SARDINES

Ingredients:

T-B: Basil leaves, Pesto powder, Olive oil, Fettucine, dried Thyme, Garlic, Spanish sardines, Chili powder

Cooking direction:

1. Cook fettuccine until al dente. You can substitute fettuccine with the pasta of your choice ;)
2. Drain the pasta then add 2 tbsp. of Olive oil.
3. Chop Basil leaves then add it to the pasta together with the Pesto powder and Chili powder. Toss well.
4. Pour in Spanish sardines into the pasta mix.
5. Garnish with garlic, thyme, basil.

You can omit the chili powder, garlic, and thyme. But I like my pasta with a little kick and overloaded with herbs.

w/ chili potato siding :D

Bonne appétit :P

I’ve been itching to cook the recipe below for weeks. And now that, I got a hold of the Pesto powder, I have no excuse not to try this recipe out.

FoodTasteTest: T.G.I. Friday’s

October 3, 2010

Every time I pass by T.G.I. Friday’s, it always brings to mind a popular youth oriented drama series in PH way back in the 90′s called TGIS. Of course, the series and this resto have nothing in common but the name TGIF always rings a bell.

Moving on.

Actually, TGIF is one of those restos in Ayala that always begs the question “when”. As in, when will I have the chance to eat there? I’m sort of curious what makes the place so popular.

Tables for 6

I finally got my chance one Friday afternoon in September. It’s rare to have a lunch out on a Friday as we have free lunch at the office. But that Friday was a local holiday in Cebu which gave me that rare opportunity to head to the mall and fill my stomach with good food.

funky and eclectic decor

I would have wanted to try their famous Baby Back Ribs but my lunch mate and I were a little broke so we settled for their budget menu.

complimentary bread

Grilled Tuna (Php 295.00)

Grilled Pork (Php 295.00)

Turon (Banana Spring Rolls) w/ Jackfruit syrup and Vanilla Ice Cream

This came with the set menu and it didn’t disappoint our sweet tooth :D

Although it took a while before our food arrived, all in all it was satisfying and the dessert was nothing but sweet goodness in it.
