Last Friday, I was in Manila. Months back, my li’l sis enticed me to go there since she’d have a 3-day seminar and would be free came Friday afternoon. I played hard to get at first but had to give in since I felt a tad of guilt for not attending her wedding last month. However, my planned excursion didn’t go without a fuss. Two days before the said flight, I asked my friend, who works at CebuPacific, to verify my booking as I hadn’t received a confirmation email although I already got my confirmation number but the status stated “Default” instead of “Confirmed”. To cut the story short, she later informed me my booking was actually denied. Void. Nada. I panicked and nearly backed out. I should’ve listened to Kat’s advice to make an inquiry weeks before I”m set to go to Manila. So, yeah, because of my stupidity and procrastination, I had to shell out almost twice the amount of my original tickets. Grrr!
Now, back to my trip
I arrived early so there’s nothing much to do except lounge at the Crown Plaza Galleria in Ortigas where my sissy’s company housed them for the said seminar.

The hotel is really posh. Staffs were very accommodating and never hesitated to offer their pearly somewhat white smiles. It’s kinda comforting. You couldn’t help but smile back
In much need of a breather from our mundane 5-day-work, the timing of this year’s company outing couldn’t have been more perfect. The venue was set at the Tambuli West Beach Resort in Mactan, Cebu.
An open air venue, a maze-like pool to plunge in, a breezy beach side, it’s totally a far cry from the concrete corners of the office.
To be perfectly honest, my recent trip to Camotes wasn’t the original travel plan. It so happened that my teammates couldn’t make up their mind whether to go for an island hopping or to visit some secluded town in Cebu. So to cut the story short, our supposed team building activity never materialized for the nth time.
Actually, I’ve been itching for ages to visit Cebu’s surrounding islands: Bantayan, Malapascua, Sumilon, and Camotes. Camotes happens to be the nearest among them and the cheapest I suppose.
Going there wasn’t really a breeze. But I had expected the worse as I’ve heard so many traveling nightmares from friends who had visited Camotes.
As early 5:00 in the morning, we left the main city of Cebu after getting our takeout food from McD. Forty-five minutes later, we reached Danao Port and hurriedly bought our tickets. We expected the ferry to leave on time, but disappointingly it left 30 minutes after it’s scheduled departure which happens to be 6:00 o’clock.
From Danao to Consuelo, it took about 2 long hours. There’s nothing much to do on the ferry except eavesdropping and checking other passengers Sleeping is the best option to kill your time assuming your lucky enough to get a seat.
a throng of holidaymakers
It was a national holiday so a large crowd was expected to swarm the little island of Camotes. Read the rest of this entry »
Here’s a pretty amusing list of what women mostly look for in their men. The qualities in the list pretty much ring a bell. It’s quite true that as we aged the qualities that we look for in a guy are simplified and must I say more realistic

It’s a disturbing documentary on Dophins’, a highly intelligent creatures, cruelty. I grew up watching Flipper and I absolutely loved that movie. It’s pretty sad knowing that Flippers’ kindreds were brutally slaughtered in an unimaginable way After watching the film, I’ll probably not go to any theme parks that houses any kind of animals not only sea creatures. They too have rights that we must learn to respect.
As the Valentine’s Day is looming, who wouldn’t want to receive a neatly packed chocolate, a cuddly bear, and most importantly a bunch of flowers?
Lucky me, I got them all early
To be exact, they’re delivered right at my doorstep yesterday evening. It’s such a sweet gesture that won’t be left unappreciated. Read the rest of this entry »
i’m normally a planner. i don’t like doing things out of impulse. but yesterday was totally unexpected. perhaps, my colds and cough altered the wires in my brain.
and so what did i do? you ask. well, i just booked my first travel to asia. then, what so special about it? basically, nothing! it’s just that i did it out of my sudden desire to travel. kat, my good ol’ friend, has been convincing me to go to hongkong with her this march. but since i was booked to fly back home, i gracefully declined.
march is usually my travel month as it happens to be my birth month. so it’s been like a yearly tradition of mine. however, the pop will be turning 60 this march, i, then, the loving daughter that i am (choke) , waived my traveling spree for that month.
but lo! when i checked cebupacific by chance, they’re running a promo fare for asia starting april. my intention was to book a flight to thailand or singapore. sadly, the plane fare was outrageously expensive. out of curiosity, i chose hongkong and so that’s how i ended booking my first trip abroad. While having a merienda, an afternoon snack, with the fam, this came into view.
It needed a little bit of squinting at first. But after a few minutes, it became so vivid.
