A Birthday Surprise From Nippon

Would you believe they’re actually made of soaps? Uh-ha, those gorgeous flowers are in fact carved soaps. The bouquet was a product of my student’s creativity.

As an aficionado of anything artistic and cute,  I was awestruck when I got the photos.

There’s plenty of things to be grateful for no matter how insignificant you may find them at the moment. And so, for this day, I’m grateful for the free-flowing coffee that perks me up the entire day Gulping two cups did help ward off sleep

A Very Special Day For My #1 Man

Dear Papa,

Today, you’ve turned a year wiser and richer, perhaps, as you’re now a certified pensioner as you would fondly call it. You may have wrinkled but not the slightest sign of being a grumpy old man. You’re still the father whom every daughter would like to have. And I can’t help but be grateful that you are my dad.

If I were to be born again, I would still choose the same family, the same dad. No one could ever replace you in our heart You’re not only our provider but also our mentor and friend.

When I think of all the sacrifices you’ve made for the family, I admire and love you all the more. You’ve been such a blessing to all of us and also to those people you’ve touched.

THANK YOU for being such a selfless father; for putting us ahead of yourself; for nurturing us; for your love and understanding. To be honest, words aren’t enough to express how thankful and blessed we, your children, are to have you.

MovieOfTheWeek: The Cove

It’s a disturbing documentary on Dophins’, a highly intelligent creatures, cruelty. I grew up watching Flipper and I absolutely loved that movie. It’s pretty sad knowing that Flippers’ kindreds were brutally slaughtered in an unimaginable way After watching the film, I’ll probably not go to any theme parks that houses any kind of animals not only sea creatures. They too have rights that we must learn to respect.

Chivalry Isn’t Dead After All

As the Valentine’s Day is looming, who wouldn’t want to receive a neatly packed chocolate, a cuddly bear, and most importantly a bunch of flowers?

Lucky me, I got them all early

To be exact, they’re delivered right at my doorstep yesterday evening. It’s such a sweet gesture that won’t be left unappreciated.

Nostalgia

Seeing this place once again brought back wonderful memories from my childhood. This was home when I was a kid until college.

This was where I learnt how to ride a bike, got bruised, climbed trees, trekked hills, bathed in river, played ’til dusk, danced under the pouring rain, stole pineapples, guavas, and “rambutan”, a Lychee-like fruit, drunk fresh milk, and all the whatnots of a happy childhood.
