REYU: Best Thrift Shop Eva!

July 4, 2011

Went to REYU again last Saturday with my cousin. For the uninitiated, Reyu is a Japanese Surplus Shop where you can find just about anything you need for your home. Furniture, decors, dinnerware, you name it they have it! The place is huge. Too bad I wasn’t able to bring my camera with me 😳 But you can check it here.

Though when I got home, I did take some shots of my buys. It’s the best bargain day eva!

How to get to Reyu?

You ask. Simple. From Ayala, take 13C going to Talamban. Tell the driver to drop you off at REYU. They know where it is.

Still Breathing^^

June 1, 2011

I promised myself I’d put a spark to this site again. Sadly, I haven’t found a motivation to do so until now. I missed blogging SO MUCH!!! Though I’m not really good at this craft, it’s my way of chronicling every important events of my life. Who knows it’ll serve as a wonderful memoir for my future children’s children.

Why now? Well, simply because it’s the first day of June. June is the start of a new school year where I’m from. And I happen to have plenty of fond memories way back when I was a student. Doesn’t make sense, does it?

Anyway, I’m back and that’s all that matters. So many things has happened for the past 6 months. I’ll try my hardest to blog every major, major events that’s I’ve had. For now, here’s a peek at my little bro’s recent wedding.

The Fam’s Newest Bundle of Joy

November 28, 2010

Sofia 😀

Meet baby Sofia. She’s born 7.11 lbs last Friday, Nov. 26. She’s much bigger than her big bro. She’s as cute as a button. And she has dimples to boot 😛

The Little Man Turns 2

November 17, 2010

This was Ethan a year ago when he celebrated his 1st Birthday with the kids at a Daycare Center. This year he’s also doing the same thing. Such a great way to celebrate one’s birthday 😛 It’s kinda nice that at a very young age he already knows the essence of generosity 😀

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my little man 😛 Tita Ninang loves you so 😉

Not Pasta, Again!

November 9, 2010

Sorry to disappoint but I’ve been deliriously in love with pasta. So as of late, I’ve cooking, tossing, and twisting pasta 😛

With that said, here’s another pasta I’ve made.

HERB AND GARLIC PASTA

You need:

T-B: Basil, Garlic, Mushroom, Pasta, Cheese, McCormick Herb/Garlic mix, and Olive oil (not in photo)

You can omit the cheese and garlic if you like 😀

To cook:

1. Cook pasta until al dente.
2. In a pan, put olive oil. Saute mushroom then add the herb/garlic powder and garlic.
3. Toss in your pasta.
4. Garnish with cheese and basil.

Goes well with breaded chicken 😀

Bonne appétit :P

Of Vintage And Bikes

November 8, 2010

After eating like paupers, we decided to shed the excess weight and strolled at the winding mall of Ayala 😆

The entire mall was filled with pink. It was done so to signify October as a Breast Cancer Awareness month. Such a brilliant idea to enlighten people of Breast Cancer.

Pink Volkswagen

Pink Motorbike from Honda

Pink Big Bike

Pink Havaianas

Stuff from major stars were also auctioned off to help support the cause.

Glittery Shoes

Tower of Little People

Pardon me but the owners totally slipped my mind 😦

And what better way to end our rendezvous than a sip of tea and slurp of Frap 😛

FoodTasteTest: Hukad sa Golden Cowrie

November 8, 2010

If you’ve ever been to Cebu or is living in Cebu, you probably heard of this restaurant. They have a couple of branches in major spots of the city so it’s hard to miss. Hukad or Golden Cowrie, for that matter, is known for serving authentic Filipino dishes.

Many, many, many Fridays ago, my former boss, technically she wasn’t my direct boss, and a former co-worker met and greeted at Hukad. The restaurant wasn’t my personal choice because I’m a Chika-an fanatic 😦 Anyways, it’s been ages since I’ve last seen them so it was an opportune time to hobnob with them again. Of course, I brought MSFM with me as a chaperone.

As always, Hukad was full of diners especially that it was a Friday. Be warned, make a reservation before going to Hukad as you’ll be greeted by throngs of hungry people. For any major restaurants, it’s always best to book ahead or else you’ll end up waiting for more than 30 minutes or worse an hour. Now, who’d want that?

Here are the snaps I took inside the resto 🙄

I took particular interest of their “puso-shaped” lights. It’s cute and very authentic 😀

Madam Rosel, moi, and TJ

If you must know, Madam and I share the same birthdate 😀 Perhaps, that’s the only link between us other than our love for traveling 😆 Actually, we live in the same town but whenever I go home it’s a rare chance to bump into each other. TJ, on the other hand, is one of the purest of souls. She’s so kind you’d probably melt. I so love her and treasure her friendship. And to prove my loyalty, I flew all the way to CDO just to attend her big day, her wedding day 😛

Nuf with the nonsense, here are the food courtesy of Madam. Of course, she’s the moneyed one so it’s just rightful that she took the bill, eh? 😉

Crispy Pata

Yum! This so delicious. Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!

Shrimp and Garlic???

Eh, I totally forgot the name of this baby 😦

Kare-Kare

This is actually a Filipino version of a stew. It’s made from meat, lots of vegetables, and peanut sauce. It is usually eaten with shrimp paste. Hmmm, another cholesterol-laden food 🙂

Shrimp Sinigang

This is one of my fave soup. It’s particularly sour because of the tamarind. There’s shrimp in there, trust me 😉

Calamansi and Chilis

Favorite “sawsawan” or dip for Pinoys. A must whenever one eats meat or grilled food.

Hungry, yet?

Some Cute Fix, Anyone?

November 7, 2010

Isn’t he ultra cute or what? 😛
